AP changed their government in 2013. Democrat John Moor was elected Mayor in 2014 along side his full council who ran as a team on the Asbury Together ticket. Mayor Moor is currently in his 8th year. Moor ran unopposed for Mayor in 2018. In 2020 the incumbent Asbury Together ticket won again.
The trend is real. You can't get these people out. The low voter turnout is astonishing
Ocean Township's election (2019) where "party bosses" from both sides of the aisle were very much in play, making public endorsements for local candidates. The elected team ran as a package of 4, all winning, as Democrat Mayor Sicliano's (currently 7th year as Mayor) council won another 4 year term. Siciliano won with support of 12% registered voters.

2020 - Mayor and 2 incumbents on the Keansburg Council defeated a write-in to win re-election.
Mayor Hoff, currently 18 years tenure, won with 656 votes. The write-in campaign only drew 219 votes. There are 5,644 registered voters. Mayor won with support of 12% registered voters.
2022 - Incumbent Councilmen Cocuzza wins a fifth, four-year term with 202 votes There was 27 write-in votes.
Tinton Falls election last year, Mayor Perillo and his running mates on the Council won a 2nd 4 year term and Democratic State Senator Vin Gopal was there to swear him in. Mayor won with the support of 16% registered voters
Trend seems to be not only a long term Mayor, their entire owned Council as well. Low voter turnout noted.
2020 - Democrat Mayor Theresa Berger, who is completing a four-year term as Howell’s mayor, wins a 2nd 4 year term, set to remain in that position through 2024. She will be Mayor for 8 years and odds are in her favor to win a 3rd term.
Trend remains the same, difficult to get a Mayor out
May 2022 - With no opposition and for the 2nd time, Democrat Mayor John Pallone and his entire City Council easily won their bid for reelection in the city's non-partisan election. That means the city will have the same leadership for the next four years.
Voter turnout was 7.9%, in a city with 15,884 registered voters.
