The Vote Yes team is continuing their aggressive marketing onslaught with yet another flier. How many is too many?
Vote Yes Flier (IMAGE) Debunked
***Red Circle: They claim non partisan elections will get rid of the party boss and didn't do their homework when mentioning Ocean Twp. and Tinton Falls (see below links). Our stance is the new structure will make politics even worse in Holmdel. There would be a 4 year term for Mayor to fight over and they will fight.
No form of government is going to end political parties.
Here is a link to Ocean Township's election (2019) where "party bosses" from both sides of the aisle were very much in play, making public endorsements for local candidates. The elected team ran as a package of 4, all winning, as Mayor Sicliano's (currently 7th year as Mayor) council won another 4 year term. See how the stronghold develops.

Here is a link to last year's election in Tinton Falls, where Mayor Perillo and his running mates on the Council won a 2nd 4 year term and Democratic State Senator Vin Gopal was there to swear him in. Republicans were also involved in this election as well.

***Mentioned...."Most" Monmouth County towns directly elect their Mayor. They always seem to leave out the Non Partisan piece of the puzzle.
How many in the group mentioned that Directly Elect their Mayor in Non-Partisan elections? Only 1 (Bradley Beach) mentioned and overall in Monmouth County only 5 operate under this combo, Asbury Park being 1 of the 5, which they conveniently didn't mention.
***"Holmdel Taxpayers First" as they spend taxpayers $$$ for a summer special election to guarantee lowest voter turnout.
***Amazing how many new PACs are being filed these days, for just this election. This one looks to be paid for by "Vote Yes to Charter Recommendation”
Who is funding these constant mass mailers?
The flier mentions "Many" community leaders...So who are they?
Mayor Buontempo - He initiated this charter study during a pandemic, never communicating directly with the Residents. The Mayor was all smiles winning elections in Holmdel as part of the Republican Party for years until he had a falling out. Now his term is up in 2023 and we sense he is concerned about being reelected in the current township form of government. It is also very clear this man desires to be a career Mayor with a long tenure.
Deputy Mayor Santhana - Along with the Mayor, initiated the Charter Study and signed all 5 commissioner petitions to make sure their team was in place to recommend this predetermined change. Prakash's term is up this November and has publicly stated he got lucky to win by 1 vote last time around. So it seems a change in government will give him better odds to be reelected. Claims to be independent yet puts himself on a flier with ex Democrat Mayor Fink and publicly endorsed Democrat candidate Mr. Didi in last years election. His actions do not seem indepednent. Another personal agenda.
Ex Democrat Mayor Larry Fink - On the Charter Study, Mr. Fink stated that 3 years would be an awfully long time to have a Mayor and then puts himself on a flier for residents to "vote yes" in a proposed 4 year Mayor term system. Reality is the Democrats in town will take any change no matter what the risks are too Holmdel.
*** "these changes allow for more responsiveness and accountability" - This statement is false and they are clear about it when continuing to say this is a "weak mayor" format of government, who will likely have less power than today. So how will this person be held accountable if they have no power? It is a misleading slogan - please do not fall for it. They just want the 4 year terms which will give them plenty of time to create a stronghold in town.
*** initiative (I&R) will create expansion in government. When someone can go get 650 signatures and then put a change in government on a ballot that most likely a minority number of residents will vote for, this will expand the government as changes continue.
*** "Despite disinformation from party bosses" - The Save Holmdel team is a group of non affiliated concerned residents who have been working together since February when realizing majority of Holmdel has no clue what is transpiring. None of us have any relationship with a party boss. We are our own party boss and the "vote yes" team is doing all they can to defame us.
*** Visit the "Holmdel Republican Party" facebook page which impersonates the Real Holmdel Republican Party. Talk about misleading and should tell you everything you need to know about the people behind "vote yes"
